Media Statement by Emily Metz, President and CEO

Chicago (March 24, 2025) – “America’s egg farmers are proud to partner with the White House and the White House Historical Association on this year’s White House Easter Egg Roll, continuing a nearly 50-year legacy of supporting this time-honored annual tradition. Planning for the event is currently in progress, and the American Egg Board looks forward to helping bring our national Easter celebration and the story of egg farming to life on the South Lawn with real eggs, and to collaborating to make this year’s White House Easter Egg Roll the best ever!

“The heart of this event is about bringing joy to children and families, and in these difficult times for egg farmers, it’s important to celebrate wherever we can. Eggs are at the center of cherished Easter and Passover traditions and memories, and this year is no different.

“It’s important to know that continuing the celebration of the White House Easter Egg Roll will not create additional strain on the nation’s egg supply or egg prices. The White House Easter Egg Roll uses about 2,500 dozen eggs donated by America’s egg farmers on the South Lawn of the White House for hunting, decorating and the iconic egg roll, itself. The eggs required for our national tradition represent a very small percentage of the nearly nine million dozen eggs sold at grocers and other retailers across the country each day. Additionally, the eggs used for the White House Easter Egg Roll will be in sizes small and medium, which are not meant for the retail and grocery channels.”
