Ingredients and Directions

Directions

  1. Peel and halve eggs. Remove yolks and mash in a bowl.

  2. Add the cream cheese, cream and vanilla to the yolks and thoroughly mix. Add the cocoa, sugar and salt and continue to mix until well incorporated and smooth. Tip: A food processor can help simplify this process.

  3. Fill the whites with the mixture.

  4. Garnish with your toppings of choice, such as shaved chocolate, a bit of sea salt, sprinkles, graham cracker or marshmallow.

Ingredients

  • 6 hardboiled eggs
  • 3 Tbsp cream cheese
  • 1 ½ Tbsp heavy cream
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tsp unsweetened, dark cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ Tbsp confectioner’s sugar
  • pinch of salt

Tips

Cocoa and sugar amounts may need to be adjusted slightly depending on personal taste and the percentage cocoa used. Accordingly, the amount of heavy cream may also need to be adjusted.

To ensure food safety, eggs should be cooked until both the yolk and the white are firm. Consuming raw or undercooked eggs may increase your risk of foodborne illness, especially for those with certain medical conditions. For recipes that call for eggs that are raw or undercooked when the dish is served, use either pasteurized shell eggs that have been treated to destroy Salmonella, or use pasteurized egg products.
